1000 Gifts Challenge

One of the most impactful books I read in 2016 was One thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp. In it, the author documented her journey through intentional thankfulness and how it changed her life. Having engaged in a similar practice every day for a little over a year now, her words resonated with me (see Choosing to be thankful). I had learned some of the lessons she had learned, discovered similar joy, peace, and resilience. She also talked about things I have never thought about and her experience was as much instructional as it was affirming.  The author had engaged in intentional thankfulness by taking the 1000 gifts challenge in which she  wrote down 1000 things she was thankful for! So, on my second year of intentional thankfulness I too want to take this challenge. My hope is that this challenge allows me to dig deeper and discover more of God’s blessings embedded in every day.  As I engage in this challenge, I would  like to share my journey with you!  Having you walking alongside me is a great encouragement and inspiration. I plan to post articles of little moments and lessons I learn along the way tied to this challenge every Thursday. I hope they encourage you to practice thankfulness too, whatever that may look like for you.

So stop by every Thursday for new material. Stop by any day to see other posts related to this challenge and some of my longer posts under Everyday Thankful Reflections. When you have the chance, let me know where these articles meet you, let me know what you have chosen to be thankful for, and what you are learning as a result.

I can’t wait to see what this second year of intentional thankfulness will bring!

Thanks for stopping by!

For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord’s glory, as the waters cover the sea.
